Double Moss Stitch

The Double Moss stitch is similar to Moss Stitch, this stitch is worked over multiples of two stitches and two rows of alternating knit and purl stitches.

The double moss stitch is soft and textured and reversible making it a great stitch for blankets and scarves.

 

When the number of stitches is divisible by 4, e.g. 8, 12, 16, 20, etc.

Row 1: (K2, P2), repeat this to the end of the row

Row 2: Repeat Row 1

Row 3: (P2, K2), repeat this to the end of the row

Row 4: Repeat row 3

Repeat these four rows as desired.

 

When the number of stitches is not divisilbe by 4, e.g. 10, 14, 18, 22, etc.

Row 1: (K2, P2), repeat to the last two stitches, K2

Row 2: (P2, K2), repeat to the last two stitches, P2

Row 3: Repeat Row 2

Row 4: Repeat Row 1

Repeat these four rows as desired.
